Saskatchewan launched a new Tech Talent Pathway on March 7, 2022. It was launched under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). The tech pathway opens one more door to permanent residency in Saskatchewan. On the one hand, it will fulfill the needs of the booming technology sector, and on the other hand, it will help to ease the shortage of labour in the technology sector. This pathway will enable Saskatchewan employers to attract talented and highly skilled candidates from the tech sector.
You can apply under the Express Entry category or the Non-Express Entry category as per your eligibility. You must have a SINP job approval letter from a Saskatchewan employer to be qualified for this program. The tech talent pathway is open to specific occupations or NOC codes below.

- 21310-Electrical & Electronics engineers
- 21311-Computer Engineers (except software engineers and designers)
- 21211-Data Scientist
- 21220-Cybersecruity specialist
- 21221-Business system specialist
- 21222-Information system specialist
- 21223-Database analysts and data administrators
- 21231-Software engineers and designers
- 21230-Computer systems developers and programmers
- 21232-Software developers and programmers
- 21234-Web developers and programmers
- 21233-Web designers
- 22220-Computer network and web technicians
- 22221-User support technicians
- 22222- Information system testing technicians
Eligibility:
- You may apply from outside of Canada or be in Canada legally. Refugees cannot apply through this pathway program.
- Must have a SINP job approval letter in the technology or innovation sector that is full-time, permanent, and also from the list of eligible NOC codes above.
- Post-secondary education relating to your job offer is required for both categories.
- Minimum language test score that meets the express entry requirements for express entry category applicants Non-Express Entry applicants who are currently working for an employer offering the job must meet the requirements mentioned in the job offer letter and, if not working for the employer, the minimum language requirement of CLB level 5 or higher in English or French.
- Must prove your intention to reside in Saskatchewan (applicable to both categories).
- Must have an IRCC Express Entry profile and a job validation code if you are applying under the Express Entry category. Non-Express Entry candidates do not require an IRCC Express Entry profile and job validation code. However, Express Entry applications receive priority processing by the IRCC for permanent residency.
- Work experience requirements would be based on your situation. i.e., whether applying within or outside of Saskatchewan.
- If you are applying from within Saskatchewan and currently working for the employer offering the job, then the requirements would be to work full time (30 hours weekly) for a minimum of 6 months in an eligible occupation for the employer offering you the job.
- If you are applying within Saskatchewan but are not currently working for the supporting employer, then you must have at least one year of highly skilled experience in the last 5 years.
- If you are applying from outside of Saskatchewan or Canada, then you must have at least one year of highly skilled experience in the last 5 years.
- You must be eligible for SINP licensure if applicable to your occupation as per the requirements (applicable to eligible computer, software, electrical, and electronics engineers). You must prove that your application for engineer training has been approved or show a letter that says you have been assigned confirmatory exams.
